Here we are putting
up the last of the insulation and getting started doing the sheetrock. The fun
begins. Mia is doing a good job with the screw gun, but I think she's texting

The small halloween party that Ben and Kjirsten held at their home.
Ella and Hudson loved the games we played. Like picking up cotton balls off the ground with tongs while blind folded.

The Kitty finally gets a new collar!!!!!! Rebekah bought this collar for the kitty about a good 1 or 2 years ago. It was getting worn so we decided to purchase a new one. Jess picked out a hot pink one and of course it still had to have a bell on it so we could hear it coming.

It wasn't happy when we woke it up from a nap to put on the new collar.

The girls attempted to do some nails they saw on pintrest.

ended up being a lot of work for some cool nails.

some turned out good some not so good.

As you can see it made a little bit of a mess. The girls not so sure if it was worth all the work.

Here's a few snip-its of a couple new things we've been doing.

First we've been seeing a lot of good desserts on Pintrest. And decided to make one. Here's a few photos of Jess making them.

Chocolate Chip Cookie dough, then Oreos then Brownie mix.

Delicious, but super rich only a little bit to eat.

Secret service (we couldn't handle eating all of these brownies by ourselves)

New shirt?!?! yes the wonderfully talented mother made it. I picked out the fabric

then mother sewed it together along with the trimmings.

Want one becka? we'll make the sleeves a little longer.

Gods gift-Many Bountiful Harvests

We have been truly blessed this year with a wonderful

abundance of fruit on our trees. First we had overload of

apricots and now the peaches. As you can see in the pictures

the trees were full of beautiful peaches. The pictures show

John picking the rest after we had already canned 50qts. and

20pts. Were very grateful for this great harvest. I was actually in the mood to can, great.

on the other hand weren't so great, but we had plenty of neighbors

offering their extra bountiful harvests and we did buy a few and ended up with

50 qts and 12 pts. of those. We need to learn the secret on growing

tomatoes we do live in Hooper which holds tomato days every year.

Yes this is after we canned 5o+qts and pts. and shared with our neighbors.
Some I'm back to doing another dozen jars....yes I had to go buy some jars to finish.
I think we put something in every jar we had in the house. Its sad to see them go to
waste. The birds and bugs can eat all the ones that fall. Ella kept saying why do they
have fuzz on them and they make you itch. They really do, I broke out with itchy red rash
on my arms.

Apricots!

Some late posts of our plethora of apricots this year.
We enjoyed eating them making jam and apricot syrup.

John picking before the birds get to them

When I made jam and syrup I didn't have pectin so I only used sugar and lemon juice.
You have to cook it longer but I used equal parts of fruit and sugar. The pectin recipe
calls for more sugar than fruit. The syrup is real yummy on pancakes and waffles, the
girls like it with yogurt on top also.

Vacation 2011

Well before Austin leaves for his mission sometime this fall, Matt wanted to take the family on one last vaction before he left. So Yvonne's crew joined Matt and us and Mia. We crossed four states: Wyomning, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho. And Visited a lot of places. People who went along on the journey: Matt, Nancy, Austin, Jordan, Donovan, Zach, Natalie, Yvonne, Ryan, Jacob, Tyler, Micheal, Todd, Christian, Logan, Cheerce, Elijah, Mia, John, Kim.

Cleaned out the pool this weekend. Ben and Kj came up and Ella ran through the sprinkler on the ground. Mia also put it under the trampoline for her. The pool's all nice and clean, filling up with water. although mia and jess weren't happy campers cleaning it out.

Chicago

Ben took me on a trip to Chicago to hang out with President and Sister Doll while he had some work

to do there. It was fun and we got a chance to do a few things. Ok I was taking pictures of stuff

and never took Sherm and Linda's picture while I was there. How dumb is that. We ate chicago pizza real good, we had a chicago dog downtown by Wrigley Field. I went with Linda and the missionaries

on a teaching appointment. The Hermanas did a real good job teaching. Ben went with Sherm to the ball game at Wrigley. We went to the Field museum and saw an interesting exhibit about horses and Africa. I went to my first Zone conference which was fun to see the missionaries and here about what they do. Linda gave a real good discussion on prayer. I had to leave early and missed Sherms talk but I'm sure it was good. Ben and I went to downtown Chicago and checked out the tallest building the Sears tower which is now the Willis Tower Skydeck that has a see through floor. A little scary 103 floors up. Then we ate at the Italian Village We also ate the night before at the Bone Fish Grill yummy. He said when in Chicago eat like the Chicagoans and we did. We had a fun few days.

Thanks Sherm and Linda for having me! hope the flooded basement gets finished.

Mia and Jess have both been doing a little work, Jess is a nanny for a family of 3 kids, in Farmington. While Mia takes over her old babysitting job in Hooper, and working at Stefani's with any work she needs to have done. So the days are long and the nights are short... Scott came over tonight to have pizza, and brought some new delicious ice cream we've never had before. pretty tasty! thanks Scott!

For Lila's Birthday we made a sand castle cake. We fixed up the yard all nice and made a fire pit we were going to roasthot dogs on sticks and as soon as we started to it started raining so we had to rush everything into the upstairs room for the rest.

Well Heather and the girls made it to stay with us for a visit.

On sunday's Scott comes to dinner and plays games. This week

Holly was here and she likes lots of entertainment. She can get

Scott to play anything with her uno, hungry hippos, piggy back rides,

jumping on the trampoline and making cookies with m & m's that

he brought. Sorry Lila was sleeping when we took the pics.

Easter Sunday

Mia and Jess in their easter dresses we made, actually we

made Mia's for her birthday and Jess made, hers they're

the same pattern. We made Heather one and sent it

when Rochelle went to visit. When Rochelle came back

we made her one before she left.

Easter isn't the same as it used to be. Now there's just

Jess and Mia hanging at home. We did our easter decorating

when all the kiddos were here. On saturday Ella and Hudson

came to Hooper to go on a Easter egg hunt at the Hooper Park.

Ben says I came all the way for 30 sec of a easter hunt and got a

handful of candy. There was 2-300 kids there crazy. Mia and Jess

went to the evening one with there flashlights and friends.

Our last week with the kids here we decided we needed

to color eggs while everyone was here even though

it was a week before easter. Austin was back visiting

on his way back to Cali for break, the kids

really love playing and chasing him around.

We had one and a half kids per teenager

helping with the dyeing.

Everything's clean must have been before

the dye got spilled

We made french toast on easter bread that was colored pink,

purple and yellow Max kept saying eewwww about it.

We also made pizza with eggs dropped on top then baked

Its actually very good. It was Ben's idea and know we

always have to make one like it every time. Jess calls

it a breakfast pizza it has white sauce, pesto, spinach,

bacon bits, sundried tomatoes and you crack a couple

of eggs right on top before you bake it. Its Jess's

favorite so it must be good.

The Gulbransons come to visit

A fun and crazy active week when the Gulbranson kids come

to stay and play. They stayed while Rochelle and Kaelen went

to Florida to see Heather and Aaron. We had fun doing things

even though it was snowy and rainy all week. Max brought his

boots good thing because we had lots of puddles. They flew a

kite out in the field today, played games colored and ran

around a lot with Austin playing tag and hide and seek.

Scott came for sunday dinner and a round of settlers and scones.

He brought easter candy to hide around and find.

They were well entertained.

We always get to go to Hogle Zoo and see the

animals and ride the train. Thanks to

Aunt Stefani who has a G-parents pass

to get in. Emma wanted to see a

Chameleon but they didn't have any.

We saw some lizards though. Kael wanted to see the tigers and cheetahs

which we saw. Max having fun looking for something in the water.

The train ride is a favorite, and Max is standing in front of the tiger pen

its sleeping up top.

Road Trip 2011

John and I decided to go on a road trip to see Heather, Aaron

and the girls before they move away. We decided to drive oneway leave

our car there for them to sell and fly home. It was country we hadn't

seen yet and we didn't have any girls with us to say "are we there yet"

We started late in the afternoon on Mon. after taking care of some last

minute car problems. Sounds like us right. We got all the way to Durango

Colorado and spent the night in some roach motel. (no Colorado sign pic

it was dark) Got up and headed to New Mexico. Well New Mexico is

pretty much sage brush all the way.

We followed route 66 thru New Mexico most of the towns were quite

run down, this sign was at the convention center. You had to drive slow

thru every town. This was tuesday. Didn't get a pic of NM sign

Entering TEXAS on tuesday, Texas is a big state.

We had to stop at cadillac ranch in Amarillo its just off the freeway

there were tons of spray paint cans and lids laying all over. Its just

in some farmers field, its been there for 30yrs.

We stayed in Wichita Falls that night. Wednesday were off to Louisiana.

It really is a wetland water marshes everywhere. We also went down

to New Orleans it was 4 days before Mardi Gras, there were kids

handing out beads to everyone. We went to Cafe Du Monde and ate Beignets

everyone says thats the place to go. John said "these are just fried scones"

Then Ben told us to get a Muffuletta at the General store, its the signature

sandwich of New Orleans it has this olive spread with provolone and meats

on a sicilan sesame bread. We got one for the road. There were lots of shops

to look around in and street vendors around the park selling stuff.

Bands in the streets playing, warming up I guess. Lots of delivery trucks

carting in Beer and Booze on Bourbon St. We stayed in Baton Rogue that night.

They had the most awesome rest areas even though it was windy.Thursday

We drove through Florida most of the day the panhandle is quite long.

We got to St. Augustine at about 11 at night.
Girls where are you? You need to be in the pictures so I don't have to:(

But were finally in Florida. The first day on the beach John is standing

on a beached dead whale they buried in the sand.

Holly loves running in the waves I think she could go all day. The water

was only about 60 degrees but she didn't care.

Lila loves the sand she picks up fistfuls and puts it in her mouth.
So Aaron and his buddy went out shrimping that night and got 3 gallons

of shrimp for us to eat. His buddy said we have to get fresh stuff for them.

here they are cleaning and be-heading the shrimp. They stay up all night

trying to get there limit, they got home about 4 in the morning.
Shrimp Heads, we all had to take a turn at beheading. Holly

thought they were gross and wouldn't eat them at dinner until Aaron told

her it was chicken then she just popped one in.

That afternoon we took the heads to the seagulls on the beach

Oh yeah did I say how much Holly likes to run in the water:)

they were doing a reenactment that day in downtown shooting of

cannons and everything.

We took a ride on a little ferry to a fort kinda cold and breezy.

Last day of fun in the sun. Heather took her bike and we rented

one bike and had lunch on the beach and took turns ridding the bikes.

There sand is real fine and compact so you can ride on it where the tide

has been up.

time running in and out with the waves.

Our last foody stop on the way to the airport. This guy owns Metro

Diner in Jacksonville and he was highlighted on Diners Drive-ins and

Dives show a couple of nights before we left. We decided to go check

the place out and it was really good. I think Heather and Aaron will

be hitting this place up a few more times before they leave.
They had some cute murals painted on the wall of the Diner so I had

Holly pretend they were her friends and do what they were doing.
Here she's really concentrating on how to walk like them. They gave

us some real good southern hospitality while we were there. Thanks

guys I wish I say I'll be coming back but I don't think so. Were glad

your coming WEST just not sure where yet.

Music & The Spoken Word/Weekend Adventures

We went to the Spoken Word this weekend. We took the girls and Austin who

was down for the weekend from Idaho. It was a pretty snowy drive to SL but we

managed to get there in time. Its a great 30 min. show of the choir and orchestra.

After we walked around the church history museum they just renovated the the

children's area a great place to take your kids. Older ones liked it to.

They Jess, Mia and Austin also went to Flo rider in Ogden and did a little surfing.

she wanted to make hearts and stars and flowers,

and she likes pink and purple and sprinkles and polka dots

Friday we went to the Mandarin in Bountiful for my Birthday.

wishing you were here with us Beck. Sorry...but it really was good

we'll take you there when you come home. Yeah it was so good

that we took pics before we ate and none of the food because

we were all stuffing our faces......

Here we go Rebekah. Just so you know that we are doing a few projects

around the house. We decided to tackle the downstairs bathroom.

Re-grouting the shower, hopefully taking care of the leaking problem.

New sink and cabinet in next week. New shower door that doesn't leak.

New floor. Should be good.

Cost: paint $25.00 rock took 13 12x12 sheets

8@ $2ea and 5@$5ea $20 for grout.

not bad. The shower door replacement could prove to be a

challenge its not a standard size of course were working with

a 30 year old house here.

the rock is set we wait overnight very bumpy at this point before grout

around the toilet I think its in there permanently hope it doesn't break.
Then lots of washing to get the rocks to reveal and clean them up.
The wall color isn't really this yellow its more tan like the upper color
To bad we couldn't do something to that old nasty shower, but we are

getting a new door. We'll put the new cabinet and sink in next

week after we seal the floor.

We all jumped in the Fox van and took Rebekah to the MTC in Provo. She is off for a great mission for the Lord. We're excited for her and know she will do a great job. When we got to the MTC there were about 10 missionaries for every car that pulled up to greet you. They said hello and helped to get her bags we had one last hug then they escorted her off. She'll be there for 12 weeks we think learning spanish, then off to Texas for only 15 more months. I think the time will go fast. Mariah has already taken her room since Heather and Aaron are in her's. We will miss her in more than one way, we'll all have ugly hair for awhile.

We are deciding wether to paint out house Red Barn red or a blueish greenish color.... We got a paint tester to see which one we like better.... In our house right now Dad and Mia like the red Beck and Mom like the Blueish greenish color. We really would Love Anyone's opinion on this, to help us with this decision!! Mariah in the production of Arise, A Youth Extravaganza a production

with about 3000 youth from the greater Ogden area. Kinda like the

dance festivals they use to have but with more of a message and story line.

They have been practicing since the first of the year and will be performing

3 times this week at the Stewart Stadium at Weber State. Rumors are

on tuesday their will be vips from the church and local communities....

it will be a closed dress rehearsal. Has been a lot of fun and good experience

for the youth, our ward has about 16 youth participating.

We went to Canada for the birth of baby Cora in May had a lot

of fun playing with the kids and enjoying the great outdoors.

John went with Keaelen on a Bear hunt it was Bear hunting

season but in two hours all they saw was a Momma Bear

and her cubs they couldn't shoot them.

of there few acres they have some 160. The kids wear there helmets

when they ride on the Polaris four wheeler thing.

I know it was a while back but I thought we should show everyone what a good time we had.

Here we all are at the 1st annual Sisters Weekend

fun was had by all there was a speaker and dinner the first night

some spent the night some went home. The next morning

breakfast and a little fun workout at the track

then off to Stef's for food, crafts and lots of laughing.

Thanks Stef for hosting the shin-dig. Hope we'll have

more new participants next year.

It was a vary good sweet sixteen for Mariah! The day started differently then she expected, thanks to Me, Rebekah & Heather. We got up at 5:45 and drove all the way out to her school.(10 miles) Out here in the country there is only one road that will get you to the school in the fastest possible way and thats the road everyone takes to school. There is only one stop sign on that road that's where we put our first Neon Yellow Sign that we made the day before. It said IT'S MARIAH FOX'S 16th BIRTHDAY!! Big for everyone to see as they are passing through the stop sign. Then our next destination was the sign right before you enter the school and our sign said TELL... MARIAH FOX HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! But we didn't stop there we went to the back of the school to the seminary building and put another Bright Pink sign on the seminary door. That said HAPPY SWEET 16 MARIAH FOX!! After we did all of that we went to the store got some doughnuts and dropped some balloons off at her friends house so she can give them to her at school! Then we rushed home to see Mariah before she left for school. When we got home we attacked her with silly string and gave her a doughnut to eat on the bus to school.

Later that afternoon I get a txt message from Mariah that says

Mia: I flippin hate you guys!!

(I knew she didn't mean it)

Me: Why? ?

Mia: Everyone at school has been telling me "Happy Birthday I saw the sign"

Me: Ooh... You know you love us!!

Me and mom picked her up early from school. She was vary surprised about our little prank. She said her seminary teacher saw that her birthday was today so he made her come to the front of the class so everyone one can sing her happy birthday. Then he told her that since she was turning 16 and that she can officially date now she must put her cell phone number on the board for any guy that wants it!

As you can tell she was so happy!

Our recent t-shirt making day. Heather had sent Jessica a t-shirt

for her birthday similar to these that she and a friend made.

We thought they were cute so when Kjirsten and Ella were

visiting last week we decieded to try our hand at

creativity-ness. They went home before we

took their pictures, they were cute mother daughter shirts.

You just buy a t-shirt or use an old one we found some on

sale at target. Find some cute material to match buy some

wonder-under you iron on the back of your design then iron

it to your shirt. Then we took embroidery floss we used all

six strands and outlined the design. Pretty simple!!!

Ice Skating with Ben and Kjirsten!

We're at a Ice skating rink near where Ben's house. There weren't very

many people out because it was so cold in the teens I'm sure. You can

rent your skates during the day for a couple of dollars and then bring

them back the next day.

Hudson was crying so I held him by the fire. Kj says he doesn't

like it out in the cold air.

The twilight movie saga continues. Once again Jessica's birthday

fail near the opening night of the second Twilight movie, easy

theme for a party. We all had fun decorating and making pizza

for food. The highlight of the party was when

Rebekah's boyfriend(Scott) showed up in the pictured window

wearing a mask while they were playing a game.

It was pretty good watch the video.

Vegas!

We recently took a road trip down to Las Vegas. John went to the Sema show (car convention)

me and the girls decided to go with him. The girls had never been before. So I decided take them to the strip and show them a little taste of sin city. Jessica said just don't look up look down at the ground.....wait don't look there either there's stuff all over the ground to.

We only stayed one night in Vegas next time we need to venture out beyond downtown, would like to see Red Rock. Sorry Carly about the missed connection. We did stay in a very nice hotel Ben found us on-line out by the air-port. Tahiti Village it had a swimming pool with tubes you float around island on.

filters through every 3-4 hrs.

Canadian Visitors..

Rochelle and Kaelen and Kids all came for a quick trip to visit.

I think Kaelen was craving Betos and Football. They stayed for

about a week, which half that time the kids were sick and had

to make a trip to the Dr. But we had fun anyways they went to

the movies, discovery museum and had Emma's 5th birthday.

Ella enjoyed staying here and playing with her cousins everyday.

The weather was great and the kids went and ate apples off the

tree every minute they could. Thanks for coming! The only bad

thing about company is when they all leave everyone is bored again,

no more kid entertainment.

Our recent excursion to the top of Ensign Peak for

dinner in the park and a walk up to a great overlook of Salt Lake City.

Heather, Aaron and Holly were here for a few weeks in August and

we went on the last night they were here. Look at Hudson sleeping

away on Kj front sling. What a trooper Kj you carried him 9 mo and

now your hiking up the hill with him at a month after you had him.
